Life experience may include, but is not limited to:

  • Part time jobs
  • Full time jobs
  • Casual jobs
  • Short courses
  • Organisational membership
  • Volunteer work
  • Hobbies and other interests
  • Religious activity
  • Independent reading and study
  • Travel experiences

Benefits of applying for RPL

Why bother spending time studying things you already know when applying for RPL can open the door to a host of benefits and advantages, including:

· Formal recognition for your knowledge and skills against a State or Nationally Accredited Qualification

· Fast tracking your pathway to a complete qualification

· Increased opportunities for retention and promotion in the workplace

· Greater employment opportunities

· Meeting minimum entry requirements for other training.

The RPL Process

After enquiring and determining which qualification you are eligible to RPL you will need to compile evidence of your competence in this field. This evidence may include; your resume, written or verbal references, certificated copies of licenses or qualification, evidence of previous training, photo or video evidence or work samples. You must have at least 2 years’ of current work experience that is relevant to the qualification you are applying to gain through RPL.

Do most RPL students succeed?

Yes. A very high percentage of our RPL applicants are successful.  Now this does not necessarily mean they achieve the whole qualification, there may be a little training needed to fill what we refer to as the GAP (Gap Training).   RPL accelerates your course completion.

We know that those who are most successful with RPL have:

  • A realistic view of their knowledge and its academic value
  • A desire to work closely with us to match experience with academic competencies
  • The ability to work together with us to gather authentic evidence to support their RPL

How much will RPL cost?

Fees associated with RPL enrolments are generally less than completing the course via other means. The cost will vary depending on units of competencies, the fee structure and assessment pathway required. You will be provided with an approximate cost upon application.
